COFU's Life+ Mentoring Program

Life+ adult mentoring is a program that helps struggling families or individuals get back to self sufficiency. The program provides resources, classes and one on one interaction with a mentor; resulting in a healthy community.

Our mentors go through an intense 15-20 hr. training course before they can become mentors. They also receive training in specialized areas such as finances, fatherhood/motherhood, nutrition, etc. Once the mentor is matched up with a learning partner, we ask that both the mentor and the learning partner make a one year commitment to making this work. After the one year is completed, the learning partner will be contacted on a regular basis just to follow up and make sure everything is going well.

The requirements to become a mentor are very simple. We look for people who:

  • Have a heart for reaching out to others.
  • Are at least 18 years old.
  • Are willing to make a 12 month commitment to partner with an individual and can communicate at least once a week or as the circumstances indicate.
  • Are willing to have the training enable them to be effective as a mentor.

We believe that with this program, not only are we going to be able to better an individual's life, but also future generations. We also believe that through this we can have a healthier community.

If you are interested in becoming a learning parter or know of anybody that is interested, please contact Todd Overman at (303) 452-2727.
